Knock Park overlooking Sound of Mull The Morvern Countryside Exchange visit in October 2001 highlighted the need to attract more visitors to Morvern. The Golfing Association in Lochaline has long identified the need for a 9 hole golf course in the area and a recent survey conducted at the Community Planning Day in August 2005 reaffirmed this need. 25 people out of the 98 who attended said that they would use the golf course were it to be built.

A feasibility study has been carried out and a course design drawn up. Planning Permission has been granted and we are now seeking funding. Our first application for funding to "Sportscotland" was initially refused, we have since made a further application to the "Environmental Justice Fund" and will hear by 13th June 2007 if we have been succesful. Failing this we will resubmit a further bid to "Sportscotland" and investigate other funding Opportunities.

The Morvern Golf and Sports Association is a voluntary organisation. For further information contact Peter Lindsay
